About Us
Información sin Barreras, formerly known as ContraCovid NYC, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping unemployed and low income individuals across New York City. We are a group of public health professionals and students from around the world who are dedicated to ensuring marginalized individuals have the information and tools needed to empower themselves and their families.
Originally founded in 2020 by Harvard Medical students and graduate students around the US, we began as ContraCovid, helping underserved communities navigate medical and social services through the pandemic. By 2021, we expanded our reach beyond healthcare, evolving into Información sin Barreras—our name, created by translation team founder Lucía Santacruz, reflects our ongoing commitment to making vital resources available to all, without barriers.

Kimberly Sanchez, is a bilingual medical professional with expertise in Immigrant Health. Her passion is to create medical equality for her community.

Briana Bell, MPH PMP
Briana Bell, MPH, is a bilingual public health professional with expertise in program management, research, and health equity. She has led multimillion-dollar projects, assisted with the expansion of harm reduction programs in NYC, and helped build nonprofit infrastructure for underserved Black and Latino communities. An avid foodie and traveler, Briana is passionate about assisting others and creating lasting community impact.

Cristian Rivero
Cristian Rivero is an outreach coordinator for ContraCOVID and a dedicated advocate for immigrant communities in New York. As an immigrant himself, he joined ContraCOVID after moving to the city, driven by his passion for helping others navigate the challenges of resettlement. Always going above and beyond, Cristian is committed to giving back and ensuring that everyone he meets receives the support they need to thrive.
